Tactical Cunning Skills

In the world of games, at age just two, A child begins a cunning debut. Concealment, distraction, teasing play, Skills of deceit find an early way. Lies not rigid, but surprisingly free, Mimicking adults, yet with a child's glee. Building images of competence, so keen, Creating bonds and saving face, unseen. Complex lies, a face-saving art, At two and a half, they subtly start. Bravado, corrections, blame placed askew, In the world of children, skills accrue. Blaming toys or an implausible name, Learning from mistakes, not all the same. In conversion disorders, signals so sly, Deception plays out, catching the eye. Like birds leading predators astray, Children deceive in their own way. From silence to calling, distractions unfold, A repertoire of skills, cunning and bold. Images created, affiliative and more, Tools of deception in their little store. As they grow, those skills refine, A teenage web of deception, so fine. Falsification, concealment, exaggeration too, Mixing fact wit

Why So Tense?

In this hurried life, why the constant tension? Are we wary of the divine's benevolent intervention? Why the need to scheme, to outshine, to outdo? Does deceit really pave the way to triumph we pursue? Why the urgency to cheat, to cunningly deceive? Do we believe success requires others to grieve? Why the impatience, the lack of self-command? Does the rush to victory obscure life's fancy strand? In this quest for more, do we lose what truly counts? Is the pursuit of success leaving us with discounted amounts? Why not pause, reflect, and grasp life's essence? Could tranquillity be the key, dispelling the tension's presence? ⒸSobia Nosheen

Transactional Hearts ♡

In a world of transactional hearts,  Where love seems to play its part,  I ponder on what's real and true,  Is there a love that's pure and new? They say to marry for love's embrace,  Yet what I see is a different case,  A romance with terms and conditions,  Leaving me with lingering suspicions. In this dance of give and take,  Is there a love that won't forsake?  I long to find a love so sincere,  One that's not fueled by wants and fear. Where can I seek this genuine flame,  Unburdened by a hidden aim?  True love, a mystery untold,  In a realm where hearts unfold. Is it found in whispered words,  Or actions that speak louder than birds?  I search for love that's not a trade,  A bond that won't easily fade. Define for me this elusive bliss,  What makes a love that's more than this?  Not just a contract, a deal, a pact,  But a connection that's hard to extract. I yearn to know where true love lies,  Beneath the surface, beyond the skies.  Guide me to

A Cosmic Trance ♡

In the beginning, a whisper of time, A fraction so small, a cosmic rhyme. The Universe birthed, a grand display, Inflation danced, expanding its way. Faster than light, a cosmic race, Inflation's sprint, a vast embrace. Driven by vacuum energy's might, Expanding swiftly, out of sight. A blink in time, a moment brief, From atom's cradle to stadium's relief. Inflation waltzed, a fleeting spree, Transforming cosmos for all to see. As the dance concluded, energy's shift, A cosmic script, a celestial gift. Matter emerged, a cosmic thread, A symphony played as the Universe spread. From inflation's grip to plasma's hug, A transition swift, a cosmic tug. Hot and dense, a primordial dance, The Big Bang's moment, a cosmic trance. © Sobia Nosheen

Healing

Journey through life's unpredictable twists, Discover the power of forgiving mists. In the steaming dance of time, Compassion's rhythm, a soothing rhyme. Explore the realms of hearts set free, Release the burden of enmity. A poetic tale of forgiveness' art, Healing wounds, a fresh start. Embrace the love, let grudges fade, Life's brief moments, in kindness laid. © Sobia Nosheen (13th December 2023)

Love's Promise

Life is like a journey with twists and turns, Love is a lesson, and each heart yearns. "If you are unsure," people say, Just wait for love to come your way. Don't feel too sad, don't wear a frown, True love's test won't let you down. When someone special comes into view, That's when you'll know what love can do. It's fine to feel hurt, to shed a tear, Let your emotions be crystal clear. Feel the pain, but don't let it stay, In time, it'll slowly fade away. May you find a love that's pure, A love that helps your heart endure. Like a cosy home, warm and bright, Filled with joy and pure delight. No tests, no worries, just reach for the sky, A love that makes you feel so high. Trust unbroken, strong and true, A loyal companion just for you. May your heart find peace, strength, and grace, In love's enfold, a warm embrace. As you heal, your spirit renewed, A love so bright, forever pursued.

A Tale of Lost Laughter

In days gone by, a friend so dear,  Brought joy to life, made everything clear.  With smiles that shone, like sunshine's gleam,  And laughter, a melody, a joyful dream. But then a change, a mystery unfolds,  His smile faded, his laughter in cold folds.  Quiet and sad, no words to say,  He turned away, drifted far away. Your laughter, a song I miss so much,  A lyric of joy, a magical touch.  Your smile, a beacon, lit up the space,  But now it's gone, leaving an empty place. Once the king of giggles, now so quiet,  Hardly a laugh, a sombre, silent riot.  I long to see that joy again,  To bring back the sunshine, dispel the pain. What happened, my friend, I wish to know,  To understand the reasons, to help you grow.  How can I bring your smile back to stay?  And make your giggles dance, bright as day? Let's find a way to turn the tide,  Bring back the laughter, side by side.  For in your smile, the world found light,  And in your g

Divine Brownie Delight

Dear friend, you are so talented, divine,  Your baking prowess, a gift so fine.  The brownies you just made, perfection's embrace,  Out of this world, a sweet celestial grace. The yummiest brownies ever, a taste so rare,  One bite and I'm in heaven, floating on air.  Super amazing, each chocolaty delight,  A rhapsody of flavours, a culinary flight. Keep making more, let your talents unfold,  These brownies are treasures, more precious than gold.  Better than all I've tasted, a sweet revelation,  In every morsel, a delectable sensation. With each batch you create, a masterpiece anew,  Your culinary artistry, a talent true.  Dear friend, your baking, a wonder to savour,  In the world of brownies, you're the ultimate flavour. © Sobia Nosheen (2nd December 2023)

The Brownies We Baked

Dear friend, a heartfelt request I send,  Our friendship, like a torn page, on the mend.  Recall the moments, joy in the air,  Tea and brownies, a bond we used to wear. You brewed tea, skies heavy with gray,  Brownies baked, brightening the day.  In the chaos, when burdens grew,  You refreshed my spirit, my anchor true. Alone now, stirring tea feels incomplete,  A void lingers, the taste not as sweet.  You are crucial, my friend, let us rewind,  Rekindle the warmth, leave the past behind. Enmity between us, like shadows cast,  Let's erase it, and reclaim what has passed.  To be friends again, like days of old,  A tale of friendship, beautifully retold. Imagine the laughter, the warmth, the cheer,  Sharing tea and brownies, so dear.  I miss that, my friend, can't you see?  Let's revive our friendship, just you and me. © Sobia Nosheen (30th November 2023)

War Escape

In a world torn apart by war's despair, Where bombs fall, and hope's a rare affair. Running for life, each dawn unsure, In shadows of fear, where dreams obscure. Yet, in my mind's haven, a special place, Close your eyes, join me in this space. A garden green, by a peaceful lake, With the one I love, a sweet escape we make. No harsh words here, just kindness flows, Clouds painting stories as the gentle wind blows. A cottage by the water, our humble abode, Where love is planted, and dreams are sowed. In the backyard, a kitchen we've made, Growing our food, in the sunlight's shade. On the grass, I lay, clouds above me, Their shapes a dance, a sight to see. Breathing in peace, love, and joy, Free from the world's harsh employ. As I leave, the magic clings, A shield against the world's harsh stings. This refuge, my solace, a haven so grand, In the cradle of dreams, where realities stand. Strength to endure, in this secr

Whispers of Mortality

When others depart, the illusion persists,  Death seems a distant tale, for others to enlist.  In this shared belief, many hearts reside,  That mortality is distant, a truth denied. When a soul departs, eyes seek earthly gain,  A misguided pursuit, in loss and in pain.  Yet, the wisdom lies in the quiet breath,  Life's temporary nature, a dance with death. In the face of loss, the common refrain,  "I'll live without you," the heart's silent strain.  As if time stretches in limitless grace,  Forgetting life's brevity, the finite space. The essence of departure, a fierce guide,  Teaching that possessions in life subside.  Not truly ours, nor yours, nor their own,  In the dance with mortality, seeds are sown. Let not death be viewed through a narrow lens,  A reminder intense, as life transcends.  All that we claim, all we hold so dear,  Temporary echoes, in the cosmic sphere. For when others depart, what we truly find,  I

Silent Sparks

In the quiet spaces where shadows play,  A tale unfolds, a love kept at bay.  Two souls wreathed, a secret shared,  In a world that whispers, they remain ensnared. Beneath the star-lit sky, a silent ballet,  Two hearts in rhythm, yet words unsay.  No confessions made, no vows declared,  In the hush of the night, a connection bared. She, a seasoned traveller of life's unknown, He, a heart untamed, yet both have grown. No proclamations uttered, no promises bind, In the silent sparks, their emotions find. A glance exchanged, like a secret code, In the unspoken, their story is bestowed. Away from judgment, societal decree, A love concealed, yet wild and free. In stolen moments, when no eyes pry, They dance in shadows, beneath the sky. A forbidden waltz, a tender embrace, In the quiet spaces, love finds its place. Unseen gestures, like petals unfurled, In the secret garden of their own world. No need for words, as the heart understands, In t

Fluidity in a World of Constraints

In twilight's realm where shadows play,  I find my place, both night and day.  Existence fluid, undefined,  A dance of spirit, unconfined. In boxes, some their lives enshroud,  Yet I, a wisp, in veils, am proud.  A puzzle piece, a shapeless form,  A spirit free in life's grand storm. Through realms of soul, I freely glide,  Infinite as the ocean's tide,  A whispered breeze, a fading thought,  In essence boundless, never caught. In this paradoxical sphere I dwell,  A life untamed, a mystic spell,  A consonance of both and none,  My existence in the setting sun. © Sobia Nosheen (October 2023)

Caught In A Passing Dream

Souls meet in this realm,  Confined in earthly vessels, dwell,  In bodies, our love constrained,  This union, a heart's silent refrain. Each touch, a glimpse of grace,  Love's yearning, a timeless chase,  Yet, these bodies, barriers they seem,  Two souls imprisoned in a dream. The real rendezvous, untethered and pure,  In the realm of souls, we endure,  Love's dance, unbound and free,  Infinite love, our destiny. Where bodies fade, souls unite,  In the realm of love's pure light,  No barriers, no chains to bind,  Two souls, forever unified. In that sacred space, we'll find,  Love's essence, one of a kind,  Souls in harmony, forever closely tied,  The union of hearts, love undefined. © Sobia Nosheen (20th October 2023)

The Unseen Stories in Ordinary Objects

In a glass, wonders reside,  Crystal vessel, where dreams collide.  Transparent artistry, clear and bright,  A world within, a pure delight. Elixir's home, where flavours play,  Sips of life, throughout the day.  Liquid stories, it does contain,  From water's kiss to wine's sweet reign. A vessel of transformation, see,  Morphing states of matter, free.  From ice to steam, it does it all,  A vessel's magic, both big and small. A lens to peer through time and space,  Reflecting beauty in its embrace.  An instrument for toasts and cheers,  Dispelling worries, calming fears. A conduit to celebrate, connect,  Friendship's bond it does protect.  A symbol of life's endless stream,  In a glass, we find a cherished dream. © Sobia Nosheen (19th October 2023)

Love Amid World's End

As the world draws near its final wane,  I'll rush to you, defying distance, heart in pain,  No matter where I stand, as time unwinds,  I'll reveal this love, secrets tightly bind. Though you're elsewhere, with someone new,  I'll confess emotions, my love for you,  In those moments, when our worlds collide,  I'll pour my heart out, nothing to hide. In moments brief, with feelings traced, Will you share the love that time has graced? Will your heart echo in the same sweet tune,  Underneath the fading light of the moon? As the universe surrenders to the night,  I pray you'll respond, with love burning bright,  Together, we'll face the world's final cue,  And you'll whisper, "I love you," too. © Sobia Nosheen (October 2023)

Ode to Chikna

In the language of Urdu, you see,  A word, "Chikna," with mystery,  It speaks of youth and freshness fair,  A term of endearment, debonair. Chikna, a compliment, indeed,  For someone with a flawless heed,  Skin so smooth, like morning's kiss,  In its charm, we find our bliss. With rosy cheeks and eyes so bright,  Chikna's beauty is a radiant light,  In youth's embrace, they ever dwell,  A story only time can tell. In this word, a beauty's grace,  A glow upon their precious face,  Chikna, a name we fondly sing,  A symbol of eternal spring. © Sobia Nosheen (14th October 2023)

The Charms and Charades of Gold Diggers

In the world of wealth and gleam, A tale of gold diggers, it may seem, Men who chase fortunes, not heart's dreams, Their greed avaricious, like flowing streams. With silver tongues and hollow eyes, They seek out riches, in no disguise, They'll charm and smile, tell pretty lies, But true love's treasure, they'll despise. They court the pockets, not the soul, Seeking riches to make them whole, But in the end, they pay the toll, For hearts of gold, they can't control. Beware the gold digger's cunning wiles, Their pursuit of wealth, their endless trials, For in the end, true love compiles, A treasure of joy that truly beguiles. © Sobia Nosheen (14th October 2023)

A Tale of Forbidden Love

In shadows cast by moonlight's gentle gleam, A tale of forbidden love, a secret dream. Two hearts as one, an untold truth concealed, A guarded secret, a love never revealed. Whispers in the night, a stolen glance, In the dance of secrecy, they took the chance. But lips could not confess what hearts did know, Their love, a hidden river's ceaseless flow. Oh, the world may never learn their sweet refrain, For they cannot disclose their love's true pain. In this life, they part, in silence they must grieve, But maybe in a next lifetime, they'll believe. In that distant realm where secrets find release, They'll share the love that yearned for endless peace. "I will let you know," their promise to renew, "How much I loved you, in that life, it's true." © Sobia Nosheen

One Soul

Don't you see yourself? Don't you see the way you smile? Don't you feel the magic That surrounds - your existence You are breathtaking, you are enchanting Don't you see how beautiful, you are? Don't you see the world - Reflecting in your eyes. Don't you see your lips? Like petals on a rose. Don't you see your presence? A life giver - a whole universe, in one soul. © Sobia Nosheen (16th July 2012)
